About Susquehanna University

Susquehanna University is a liberal arts college in Selinsgrove, which is the largest borough in Snyder County, in the US state of Pennsylvania, with a population of more than 5300 inhabitants, at the time of the 2000 census estimate.

The university was established in 1858 and first started as the Missionary Institute of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and Susquehanna Female College.

It offers its students more than 50 majors and minors, leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and the Bachelor of Music, including pre-professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine, ministry, teaching and veterinary medicine, as well as an Interdisciplinary Honors Program, `focusing on the liberal arts and the development of skills in critical thinking and communications as well as a global perspective`.

Athletics

Susquehanna's athletic teams are known as the Crusaders and they compete in the Division III of the NCAA, in a number of 23 varsity sports. Their distinctive colors are orange and maroon.
